Nearly six weeks into the lockdown journey, our daily lives look very different to what they did before. However, we are amazed at the resilience of South Africans who have pulled together to contend with some of the very significant challenges we are facing as a nation.
At Fairheads, the people that we serve are some of the most vulnerable in our society and we are acutely aware of our obligation to do everything in our power to help them during this difficult time.
Our services have remained open to our clients without interruption as the lockdown came into effect. We have taken steps to minimise the impact of restricted movement by adjusting our policies and procedures to make it easier for our clients to interact with us. This has been done using a risk based approach to ensure that their money remains safe, but that they are able to access it without placing themselves or their families at risk.
As the pandemic spreads, we are constantly adjusting our plans and will respond accordingly.
With this in mind, following the commencement of level four of the lockdown on 1 May, we have taken the decision to re-open our Walk In Centres in Sandton, Braamfontein, Durban CBD and Cape Town from 11 May 2020. Our emphasis will remain on the safety of our clients and staff and the following measures have been put in place:
- Our centres will be open on Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
- Clients are strongly encouraged to use other methods to talk to us, such as email or phone and should only travel if it is essential to do so.
- Prescribed hygiene measures, including screening, will be in place and no person will be allowed entry without a mask.
We are reminded at this time of how important it is to look after one another, with particular care towards the most vulnerable amongst us.
